Youth Activities in Cape Town
A major focus during the 2001 event in Cape Town was civic participation and environmental awareness. Partnering with Africa Connects and local organizations like the Cape Department of Waste and the Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITI), students partook in various service-learning activities. One highly memorable summit project involved youth creating a massive “Waste Sculpture” using trash collected from around the campus.
